Margaret Samson RIP
It is with great sadness that we have to announce the passing of Margaret Samson on the evening of 26th December. Following a brave battle with cancer Margaret died in the Rainbow Rooms at Newbury Hospital. Our thoughts are with Jim and all the family at this sad time.
Margaret joined Deanwood in 2002, having played here with sister Janet for some time before that. She became a popular and enthusiastic member of the Ladies Section and became Captain alongside Nigel Davis in 2008/09. In recent years Margaret joined some friends in playing at West Berks Golf Club but was a frequent visitor back to Deanwood, continuing to support the club she loved. She had intended to rejoin and enjoy Deanwood once her battle with illness was done but sadly that was not to be. Margaret was held in a very high regard by everyone at Deanwood and we will miss her very much.
Margaret's funeral will take place on Thursday, 8 January at 11:15 am, West Berkshire Crematorium, Bath Road, Thatcham.
