Well we nearly resisted the temptation of early Christmas wishes but not quite. Yes sorry it is still November but as many of you may not read this until Monday 1st December I think that's allowed. Merry Christmas!
As we come towards the end of our 20th year we also near the end of an era. As you all know Deanwood is shortly to be sold to new owners. There is still some work to be done in finalising this sale but the target date for completion remains the end of December. Assuming all goes according to plan it means we will say farewell to Deanwoods creator Allan Snook. Back at the opening in May 1995 the course layout was largely as it is now but the enhancements to both the course and the facilities over the last 20 years have been plenty. By way of a thank you to members & guests both past & present The Snooks will be hosting a Christmas Farewell Gathering on Saturday 27th December. Please call in on the day to partake in a small nibble and maybe a Christmas tipple. Hopefully there will be a number of old friends on hand to catch up with and share stories of Deanwood.
The Boxing Day Texas Scramble will take place as usual on the morning of…..you guessed it 27th December, Boxing Day! Teams are of 3 or 4 and an entry form is available here or in the clubhouse. This event is open to non-members.A busy few days (& nights no doubt!) but one more for the festive period is NIGHT GOLF. Almost the most fun you can have in the dark is how we describe it and although that is a bit of a stretch we do have many players who beg us to put this back on every year. It will be on Monday 29th December and an entry form can be downloaded here. Teams of 4 and again open to non-members.There is a festive golf ball offer from Titleist for personalised balls. Can we also remind you that we have vouchers available as Christmas gifts for any of the services we offer at Deanwood. So if you want to give Dad some rounds of golf, Mum some lessons with our Pro Nigel, or spoil a loved one with some therapy centre treatments such as massage or beauty therapy we can provide a personalised voucher either for a specific items or an amount of money. 01635 32223
