24 Hour Sponsored Golf
Starting on Thursday 12th July at 7pm we (that is John Bowness, Kevin Holloway, Marc Gudgeon & Mark Brown) will begin 24 hours of non stop golf at Deanwood Park GC.
Is it because we love golf that much?......no. Is it because we enjoy each others company that much?......NO! Is it because we are all a little bit insane?........possibly. Actually it is because we all know people who have suffered and fallen victim to cancer. This small gesture will give back to one of the organisations that help cancer sufferers and there families. Simple.
There are many people asking you for donations for charity and they all have merit. We don't want to annoy anyone with yet another request for a charity donation. We raise what we raise, be that £10 or £1000. Your support and your awareness of the cause is the most important thing. The Newbury & District Cancer Care Trust provide help and support for cancer patients receiving palliative care and their families, be that advice, counselling, the loan of equipment or relaxing massage therapy.
Please come to Deanwood at from 6pm on Thursday 12th July and see us off. If the weather is nice there will be a BBQ but either way the bar will be open. We will be playing through the night using luminous balls and glow sticks to light the way. Hopefully as we get into Friday morning here will be plenty of people on the course to keep us awake and fed. You are welcome to join us and walk a few holes or just have some refreshment in the bar which we will pass every hour or so. Obviously the finish will be 7pm on Friday 13th July and we will need people to carry us home!!
