Bill had been a Deanwood member for 17 years and was always regarded as a determined competitor, often competing at the top of leaderboards. He is pictured above holing a put during part of the Deanwood team win in the Newbury Interclub Challenge. He won many Seniors events and loved being part of both the Deans' and the Seniors sections.
As well as being a fierce competitor Bill was a popular member of the club. A great character, a keen sense of humour and always good company, he will be much missed.
Despite his failing health in recent years he has continued to visit the club and venture onto the putting green, just to be playing some kind of golf.
Bill passed away peacefully early this morning. Our thoughts are with his wife Anna and family.
Funeral details to follow.
