We are very sad to announce the passing on the 8th January of Frank Tanner, Honorary member at Deanwood.

Frank lived in Swindon but discovered Deanwood along with his wife and 2 friends back in 1997, the year I joined Deanwood. They all travelled from their home course of Cricklade to play Deanwood regularly and despite the passing of all his playing partners Frank stayed playing here ever since.
A charming and sweet character, he was always willing to join up and play a friendly 9 holes with whoever he came across on the course. He typified what Deanwood is all about and will be warmly remembered by all who knew him. We struggled to find a photo but in the end a gem appeared.
We made Frank an Honorary Member when he turned 90 which touched him greatly. He passed away last week just short of his 92nd birthday.
