Mike King RIP
We are very sad to announce the passing of Mike King who died peacefully in his sleep last Wednesday, 22nd October, after a long battle with cancer.
Mike was a member for probably 20 years and always a fierce competitor. He was a regular in the past with both the Friday Seniors and The Deans and in recent years with his smaller group that played regularly on a Wednesday morning. He will be familiar to many as the man riding high on his motorbike style buggy, which although he didn't make it he certainly made several DIY adaptions. The rear wheel arches were two halves of a large saucepan! Mike made a lot of friends at Deanwood and he will be very much missed but fondly remembered.
The funeral is on Monday 10th November at West Berkshire Crematorium at 10.00am. All are welcome at the service and back at Deanwood afterwards for the Reception where refreshments will be available. No flowers please but donations will be taken on behalf of Cancer Relief.
