It is a big deal for a small club like Deanwood to host such a prestigious local event as the Newbury Interclub Challenge Trophy. It is a massive achievement by the team today to win that trophy. Well done to team Rosemary Black & Bill Field who were joint first in the Mixed Pairs, Dave Lyons & James Percy who won the Mens Pairs, and Mona Butler, Sue Byng, Carol Merrifield and Chris Robaczynski who all did fantastically well against the odds. If only I had gone to Ladbrokes this morning! As well as winning, the club are immensely proud of the comments we received for the quality of the course and the hospitality we delivered. Well done team and well done to all the Deanwood staff who delivered again. Without doubt the proudest moment in Deanwoods 20 year history.
