VOUCHERS

The popular green fee vouchers are back! The prices have altered very slightly but they still represent excellent value for money.

The vouchers are all still sold in books of 20 x 9 holes and are available in the same 3 options as before.

"Anytime Vouchers" - £200 for 20 so £10.00 per 9 holes (normal prices are £11.50 weekdays & £13.50 at weekends).

"Weekday Vouchers" - £170 for 20 so £8.50 per 9 holes.

"Junior Voucher" - £110 for 20 so £5.50 per 9 holes.

IMPORTANT NOTES....

THESE VOUCHERS WILL ALL EXPIRE, WITHOUT EXCEPTION, ON 30/4/2016.

WE WILL STOP SELLING THESE VOUCHER BOOKS AT 31/12/2015.

Interclub Challenge

On Wednesday 1st July Deanwood has the honour of hosting the annual Interclub Challenge Trophy which is played between the 7 local golf clubs. 8 players (4 men, 4 women) from each club compete individually and in various pairings for the trophy. It is a big opportunity for the club to show off to our neighbours and we are delighted with the opportunity to the rest of the local golf community how nice our club is. We obviously have to put together a team to play in the event which the Captains are doing. It would be very welcome if we had a few volunteers to help on the day with some ball spotting, course marshalling and welcoming our visitors.

Ladies Golf

We recently had a change of leadership in the Ladies Section at Deanwood. Many thanks go to Jane Gould, Jackie Cogswell, Celia Camplin & Sheila Darrington who have done a fantastic job in recent years. The new regime comprises of leader Val Tucker, Mona Butler, Rosemary Black & Carol Merrifield. We wish them every success and hope that the recent swell of members to the Deanwood Ladies Section continues. The Ladies Invitation is next Tuesday 9th June and entries are progressing well. Quite a few of our new ladies are coming via Nigel Harts Ladies Group Lessons. A new set have just begun and more will follow so if you know any ladies who are contemplating golf I am sure we can help.

NSPCC Texas Scramble

The annual NSPCC Texas Scramble takes place on the Wednesday 8th July from 8.30am. The entry forms are available in the Pro Shop and as usual teams of 3 are required. Members (5 Day & Premier) are £22.00 each and guests are £34.00 which includes coffee, prizes and a 2 course lunch.

Charity Concert

The Kennet Accordion Orchestra, featuring Harry Hussey, presents an evening of musical entertainment in aid of the Newbury & District Cancer Care Trust in the main conference room on Friday 26th June 2015 at 7.30pm. Tickets £10.00. Poster available here.

BBQ & Champagne Roll Up

As a result of the Accordion Concert we have moved the Champagne Roll Up scheduled for 26th June to Friday 19th June. The Roll Up is open to members & non-members alike. A special green fee for the 9 holes is available at £10.00 and competition entry is £5.00 for everyone. A simple 9 hole stableford will determine the winners and all entry fees will be converted to champagne which will be distributed according to the size of the entry. The first tee time for Roll Up is 3.30pm and the last one is 6.15pm. Prizes will be given out at approx 8pm or as soon as the last group are in.
THE BBQ will be just £7.50 per head and tickets should be purchased in advance to enable this to be planned and catered accordingly. Please buy your tickets for the BBQ at the bar and book tee times for the Roll Up in the shop. It should be a lovely Deanwood evening in the sunshine!

Coffee

We get through more coffee than anything at Deanwood and we hope you are enjoying the new brand we have been using since February? Sadly everything continues to cost more and we are finally going to have to increase tea & coffee prices from 15th June 2015. Filter coffee & tea will be £1.20 per cup while latte, cappuccino, americano & hot chocolate will all be £2.20. This is still excellent value for money compared with other outlets and we hope you understand.

Junior Success

In the recent EZGO sponsored Junior Golf Tour event at Wessex Golf Centre in Weymouth 7 year old Jack Chantrey of (Yes you guessed it!) Deanwood Park won his category with gross 37 over 9 holes in very difficult wet conditions. Well done Jack!
